Pull not Push

As the press finally begins to ponder how to handle lies, it’s timely for us to reconsider our communication strategy.

This critique of Bill Nye’s talk on teaching evolution by a marketing expert surprised me by making sense. The upshot is

Instead of pushing people towards the sides [of the issue], I would try to pull them into the conversation. I might ask some rhetorical questions to get them to think about why they feel the way they do.

We at P3 agree. The way to a sensible future is to make the conversation interesting to people who aren’t aligned with one side or another.

And if you don’t agree with us about that, you must be some kind of idiot.
