Peter Gleick at SciBlogs

Peter has a promising new blog at SciBlogs. Normally you’d wait a few postings before passing that along, but in Peter’s case we can be pretty confident that interesting stuff will ensue. It’s about

” noteworthy, informative, and provocative numbers and data,” “confusions and challenges in understanding and reporting on science, misunderstandings or misrepresentations of science, and the complexities of interpreting science for policy makers and the public,” and “important and controversial people – historical and current figures in the public discussion over environmental issues”.

That’s at http://scienceblogs.com/significantfigures/

Constructive comments that move the discussion on are always welcome, no matter what line of argumentation they take. Comments that add nothing interesting or which try to derail the ongoing discussion are ruthlessly purged. In doing this, we are not worrying about fairness, balance, etc. All we care about is constructive engagement. Comments from nonmembers must be explicitly approved, while comments from members may on occasion be demoted.
